IBE Film Festival

The Arts Speaks Cafe
The Arts Speaks CAFÉ includes an interactive area for local authors and artists to share insight on their works. By promoting the exploration, improvement, and advancement of the arts as a change-making force in society, the CAFÉ provides a venue for spoken word artists to share all forms of poetry, from urban and spiritual to confessional and political. Join our emcee BOXX the Artist for a weekend that will stimulate your mind and inspire your soul. Sign up for a session of Yoga and Canvas or just relax, listen to music, and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. Whatever you decide to do just make sure you don’t forget to stop by to check us out!

Our Inspo Teachers Exhibit: Empowering Diversity in Education
The exhibit will showcase the transformative work of teachers, featuring learning stations and a tribute wall as part of IBE’s Black Teacher Recruitment Initiative. This initiative aims to attract Black educators to teach in Central Indiana Schools. Representatives from Teach Indy, Educate Me, Teach for America, Indy Teach, and the Indianapolis Teaching Fellows will be available to assist those interested in pursuing a career in teaching. Educators can also share their passion for teaching to inspire and encourage future teachers, creating a positive image of the teaching profession. Attendees of all ages can send messages of encouragement to educators as we prepare for the 2023-24 school year. Come by for information, prizes, giveaways, and more.

The Black Wall Street Zone
Black Wall Street represents the culture of Black America. It isn’t just business and transactions; it’s about pride, accomplishment, security, and self-sufficiency. Due to segregation laws that prohibited Black residents from shopping in white neighborhoods and the desire to circulate money in their community, Greenwood residents collectively funneled their cash into local Black businesses, becoming a robust and self-sustaining community. IBE is celebrating what Black Wall Street represents to us now and emphasizing the importance of patronizing our Black businesses to generate wealth for our communities.

Performing Arts Academy on Location
Indiana Black Expo’s Performing Arts Academy, an interactive and engaging exhibit, will be located inside the exhibition hall. IBE’s PAA students, alums, and volunteers will engage youth and families in dance competitions, music production, acting, videography, and photography.

Acting Studio: Ever dream of being cast in a commercial? It is all about your personality. Come and interact with IBE’s acting students and alums while shooting a short commercial for all levels and ages.
Dance Competition: So you think you can dance? Put on some comfortable shoes and enter our dance competition hosted by Wildabeast, one of the best Hip Hop choreographers in the country. All ages.
Silent Disco Party: Bring all of your friends to experience Summer Celebration’s music scene with other youth and young adults and dance to your favorite hits on the PAA dance floor.
The Infamous Selfie-Wall: Photos are everything. Don’t forget to snap some memorable selfies and share them on Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook and tag IBE.
